12+ | Essential Oil Massage
Dab a little essential oil on your finger tips and allow your baby to smell the oil. While your baby is lying down, use your fingers to draw a heart shape from the center of the forehead to the center of the chin. You can massage both sides of the face simultaneously or one side at a time. Repeat a few times, and then gently nuzzle in toward your baby, taking a moment to nurture and connect.
Activating your baby's senses, such as through touch and smell, causes oxytocin to be released. Oxytocin helps moderate your baby's stress response, improves sleep-wake behavior, and fosters adaptability in your little one, even at an early age.
