With baby your lying down, gently push back against their outstretched feet, thereby stimulating motor reflexes in their legs. Offer an appropriate amount of resistance as they feel your hands against their feet to activate their little muscles.
By pushing back on your baby's feet you are activating the muscles and reflexes that are used for crawling and other gross motor skills later in development. As your baby gets a bit older, you can provide resistance against their feet when they're on all fours to further improve muscle tone.
