Baby skin isn't always smooth and perfect. Eczema and other skin conditions are on the rise in infants, due to a combination of genetics and environmental factors.
Nothing's worse than seeing itchy flakes or painful flare-ups on a little one who can't resist scratching and causing further irritation.

Here are a few tips for keeping baby’s dry and eczema-prone skin soft, protected, and healthy.
1. Make moisturizing part of baby's everyday routine
Some moisturizing each day keeps dry, irritated skin away. Find a rich, gentle moisturizer that’s free from fragrances and chemicals, and apply it at least twice a day. Keep it handy for after baths and before bedtime. Warm it in your hands before applying to baby's skin.
2. Look for skincare products with prebiotics & probiotics
Supporting baby’s skin microbiome is a great way to keep their skin healthy and calm. Prebiotics and probiotics help balance the skin’s natural bacteria, which can soothe eczema-prone skin and reduce flare-ups.
3. Use gentle bath products
Bath time should be a soothing experience, not one that dries out baby’s skin. Avoid harsh soaps that can strip away moisture. Instead, opt for gentle, baby-safe cleansers that are free of sulfates and parabens.
4. Moisturize right after bathtime
When baby’s skin is still slightly damp, gently pat them dry and apply a rich, gentle moisturizer that’s free from fragrances and chemicals. This helps seal in hydration to soothe skin for hours after.
5. Create a cozy, skin-friendly environment
Sometimes, the environment around baby can affect their skin. Use a humidifier to add moisture to the air in baby's room, especially during colder months. Dress baby in soft, breathable fabrics like organic cotton.
