We’ve set an entirely
new standard for prenatal
vitamins.

In an under-regulated category, good intentions simply aren’t enough. Most prenatal vitamins deliver only a fraction of the nutrients needed for a healthy pregnancy.

We worked with the Neurological Health Foundation and leading prenatal nutrition researcher Dr. James Adams to develop trimester-based prenatal formulations based on his groundbreaking research.

At HealthyBaby, we source only the best ingredients from highly reputable and trusted suppliers. Then we test our prenatal vitamins at every step of the process—every single time we make them.

KEY INGREDIENTS

We source the highest-quality vitamins, minerals, and DHAs, and deliver them in forms for optimal absorption.

DHA 500 mg

DHA is an essential building block in the development of cell membranes, as well as the brain and eyes. DHA is especially important for reducing the risk of preterm birth and preeclampsia and for treating gestational diabetes.

Can help reduce the risk of preterm birth and preeclampsia and for treating gestational diabetes.

Folate 600 mcg

Adequate folate intake during pregnancy is proven to support healthy fetal brain development. People vary greatly in their ability to convert it to the bioavailable forms, so we always use the most bioavailable form – 5-methyl-tetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF).*

Iron 30 mg

About 50% of women enter pregnancy iron deficient. Iron plays a critical role in transporting oxygen to baby’s brain—the highest oxygen-consuming organ in the body—via red blood cells during pregnancy.

B6 10 mg

Pyridoxine, also known as vitamin B6, affects over 100 enzymatic reactions in the body, including the production of important neurotransmitters and hormones. Pyridoxine supplementation can help decrease the severity of nausea during pregnancy, reduce the risk of cardiovascular malformation and preeclampsia, and improve birth weight.

B3 30 mg

Niacin, also known as vitamin B3, is needed for many functions in the body, including energy production and development of the nervous system, digestive system, and skin. Niacin helps prevent neural tube and heart defects.

Inositol 500 mcg

Inositol assists in controlling fat and sugar metabolism, nervous system cellular function, and gene expression. Proper supplementation can lower the incidence of neural tube defects.

Iodine 220 mcg

Iodine supplementation is strongly recommended to decrease the rate of hypothyroidism in the mother and intellectual disability in baby. Iodine deficiency should be corrected very early in pregnancy, as low levels by mid-gestation may result in neurodevelopmental delays.

"At the Neurological Health Foundation (NHF), we're very concerned about infant health today. The rates of autism, ADHD, obesity, and allergies are growing far too fast. Prenatal nutrition can help reduce the risk of these conditions.

As both a prenatal nutrition expert and a parent, I'm passionate about making sure that every baby gets high-quality nutrition from the very beginning. It makes a lifelong difference."

“I recently started preparing my body with these prenatals. They've been so helpful, and I feel confident I won't have a miscarriage again. Although it's a lot of pills, I don't personally mind since they're split throughout the day and I know I'm on the right track of getting all the nutrients.

The scientific evidence based research paper that I was able to look into was the reason that made me buy these prenatals. Every other prenatal on the market falls short in vitamins.”

FAQs

Is your prenatal tested for heavy metals?

Yes, we take the safety of our formulations very seriously. Our Prenatal is tested for heavy metals (arsenic, lead, cadmium, and mercury). We screen our ingredients before and after production and then test all finished products to ensure we meet our high safety standards.

Are your prenatals gluten-free and major allergen-free?

Our supplements are gluten free, but not allergen-free. Our fish oil softgels contain fish (anchovy). Our dry powder capsules  are free from milk, eggs, shellfish, wheat, gluten, peanuts, soy, and tree nuts.

Are your prenatal vitamins organic?

Minerals are naturally occurring, but technically not organic, because they'e not derived from living organisms. Our Prenatal includes minerals and therefore can’t be organic.

What makes your prenatal supplements different?

Unlike other prenatals that consist of the same formulation throughout pregnancy, Our Prenatal is customized for the evolving needs of your body, with 12 of our 27 ingredients changing by trimester. Our Prenatal formulation was informed by over 350 peer-reviewed research studies. Additionally, we've selected the most bioavailable forms of each vitamin and mineral, so your body can easily absorb and utilize nutrients.

Does your prenatal contain DHA?

Yes, Our Prenatal contains 500 milligrams of DHA and 250 milligrams of EPA from fish oil per day for Trimesters 1-3. This increases to 650 milligrams of DHA and 1,000 milligrams of EPA per day for Trimester 4.

Is your prenatal approved by the FDA?

The FDA doesn't regulate prenatal vitamins or any other dietary supplements, which is why it's important to do your research. In the absence of regulation, we comply with the FDA's good manufacturing practices and maintain our own strict safety standards.

HealthyBaby Chief Innovation Officer Hilary Swank testified in support of California Senate Bill 646, which will require prenatal vitamin manufacturers in the state to test a representative sample of their products for heavy metals, including arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury, and to make these test results publicly available to consumers. SB646 passed in September 2025, and we hope it inspires more widespread safety regulation of the prenatal and supplements industry.

What are “bioavailable nutrients”?

Some forms of vitamins and minerals are absorbed better than others, because they require less processing by the body. For example, folic acid is the synthetic form of folate. To become active, or bioavailable, the body must convert the folic acid to methylfolate. Our Prenatal uses the bioavailable form methlyfolate, so your body can absorb and utilize the nutrients more easily.

If I forgot to take my prenatal for one day, should I take a double dose the next day?

We don't recommend taking an extra dose. We recommend keeping the morning and afternoon doses apart by several hours for best absorption. Supplements are designed to build a baseline of nutrition. If you miss a dose, no problem! Just continue your normal regimen.

Do I need to take a multivitamin with the prenatal?

We’ve developed Our Prenatal to be a comprehensive multivitamin (with a softgel containing both DHA and EPA) that will meet the nutritional needs of most pregnant and lactating women. In almost all cases, this prenatal should replace a general multivitamin. Please make sure it's appropriate for your needs by consulting with your physician.

Is it possible to take too many vitamins?

Yes. The amounts in Our Prenatal are generally safe and within the Tolerable Upper Intake Limits established by the FDA. However, taking excessive amounts of vitamins (especially fat-soluble vitamins, including vitamins A, D, E, K) and minerals may be harmful. Before taking any other supplement along with our prenatal program, please review our label and consult your physician.

How should I take this prenatal? Does it contain folic acid?

We've designed Our Prenatal to be taken as two servings per day: one in the morning (typically taken with breakfast) and another in the evening (typically taken with dinner). We don't include folic acid in Our Prenatal, as it is a synthetic form of folate, and people vary greatly in their ability to convert it to bioactive forms. Instead, we use the bioavailable form 5-methyl-tetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF) to make sure your body can absorb it. We recommend consulting your doctor before taking Our Prenatal to ensure it meets your needs.

What are the other ingredients not in the nutritional panel?

Our other ingredients include the vegetarian capsule (modified cellulose, water), magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide (silica), and cellulose. The softgels contain fish oil from Peruvian anchovies and are made with gelatin, glycerin, and purified water.

“After my first child was diagnosed with autism, I wanted to do everything I could to ensure the neurological health of my second. I turned to Dr. Adams to tailor a prenatal nutrition regimen that would create the optimal environment for my baby during pregnancy.

Every mom should have easy access to this knowledge and nutrition, so I’m proud to collaborate with the Neurological Health Foundation to distill a body of peer-reviewed research into one comprehensive prenatal system.”
