While sitting comfortably, turn on classical or calming music and snuggle your baby onto your chest. Take a moment to close your eyes and breathe in deeply. Notice the rhythm and rate of your heartbeat alongside your baby’s. Feel the connection between you both during this moment.
This exercise helps you attune to your baby and become more mindful of your experiences. This will help you deepen your connection with your baby, which aids healthy attachment and can help reduce the risk of postpartum depression and anxiety for caregivers.
