Frequently Asked Questions

-We are parents, environmentalists, doctors, scientists, and most importantly, a group of people who care and who put babies before business! As parents ourselves, we know what’s important in a diaper, and a lot of research and love and care went into developing our diapers. What makes the healthynest diaper different from other diapers: -Premium, plant-based materials: We created a plant-based immediate environment (nest!) for your baby, by designing our diaper so that the main materials that touch your baby are plant-based. Even the leg cuffs that wrap around your baby’s little legs are plant-based. The healthynest diaper is ultra soft (you have to feel it to believe it!), because it is enhanced with premium cotton grown in the USA, for the most comfortable and soft experience for your baby.    Safe and non-toxic: As experts from the organic baby food category, we brought our rigorous quality systems and checks to the diaper category. We conduct third-party testing for toxins such as VOCs, dioxins and pesticides, and we communicate every material and ingredient used in our diaper. Our diapers are third-party verified by the highest and most-trusted certifications from around the world, including Oeko Tex and Nordic Swan. -Effective: We knew we couldn’t make a big change if we didn’t make a diaper that truly works, that’s why we hold ourselves to the performance standards of the big brands. Our diaper has been third-party tested and performs in line with and better than the big brands on tests for both absorbency and rewet tests, which mean they are great at keeping your baby’s skin dry. Our diapers are also proven to protect against leaks. Most importantly, our diaper has been parent tested and approved. Check out our reviews below to see what customers think! -Sustainable: We developed both our diaper and diaper packaging to decrease the impact on our environment by replacing petroleum-based materials with plant-based materials wherever possible. We also carefully selected materials that are as efficient as possible, which allows us to use less materials overall. This is why the healthynest diaper is so effective, yet not overly bulky.
We recommend every 2-3 hours or every time #2 is in the works! Newborn and younger babies need more frequent changes while older babies need a change less often.
At healthynest we did the work for you and developed a convenient subscription with the amount of diapers you will need for the month, depending on your baby’s size. Every family is different, but we did our best to provide you with the amount of diapers or more that you will need for the month. Baby’s use more diapers when they are in smaller sizes. Our monthly subscription comes with four packs of diapers. We know that running out of diapers is not fun, so we include a larger amount of diapers per month in our subscription than what the average family uses. If for any reason you’ve run out of diapers, contact us and we will be sure to figure out a solution for you! Size 1, monthly subscription: 256 diapers Size 2, monthly subscription: 232 diapers Size 3, monthly subscription: 208 diapers Size 4, monthly subscription: 184 diapers Size 5, monthly subscription: 160 diapers Size 6, monthly subscription: 144 diapers
You will get four packs of 64 wet wipes in your subscription for a total of 256 wipes. Each set of four packs contains slightly more than the average number of wipes needed per month, with the goal of you never running out. Every family uses wipes differently, some more, some less. Contact us at support@healthynesting.com if you run out of wipes too soon, and we will get you some more! Because every family has different needs, you can choose to have two packs of wet wipes and two packs of dry wipes instead of four packs of wet wipes.
No problem! We’ve got your back. Message us in the help icon in the corner with the subject “Diapers ASAP,” or give us a call if it is during business hours. We know how important it is to have diapers on hand- we will make sure to get some diapers to you as soon as possible.
FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council. FSC certification ensures that products come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits. You can learn more on the FSC website: https://us.fsc.org/en-us/certification
At healthynest, it was important to us that as much of our diaper is plant-based as possible. The main materials that touch your baby’s skin are plant-based. Specifically: our topsheet, the inner sheet that touches your baby’s skin, our backsheet, the waterproof outer cover, and the leg cuffs that go around your baby’s legs are all plant-based. The fluffy absorbent core in our diaper is made of sustainably harvested wood pulp (100% FSC certified), and our outercover is cotton enhanced, with cotton grown in the USA.
Each healthynest diaper size has a unique pattern that grows with your baby. Our size one diapers have a simple, two color illustration which mirrors the visual development of your little one. As the diapers size up, the pattern becomes more complex and more colorful as your baby’s vision builds. Our diaper packs also come with all white diapers. For our all white diapers, at the moment there isn’t a size on them. We are working on adding our sizes to the diapers in the future!
The healthynest logo goes on the front of the diaper.
At healthynest, we are on a mission to remove single-use plastics and leaching from plastic in everyday life. Yes, the healthynest diaper, like all disposable diapers, contains plastic.  We have replaced the plastic with plant-based sources wherever possible. Plastic is necessary in disposable diapers to make them waterproof and to make them absorbent. SAP, which stands for super absorbent polymer, is what makes diapers absorbent, and is made of plastic.  We have worked to ensure there is zero toxicity in our diapers and we have designed unique diapers where the materials that touch baby’s skin are plant based. Our diapers are tested for VOCs, dioxins, pesticides, antimony and more, by a third party to ensure the utmost safety of every material, and we are working towards a plant-based SAP that works. In the meantime, we also offer a 100% cloth diapering option, so parents have choices when it comes to materials and diapering.
SAP stands for Super Absorbent Polymer. SAP is what allows a diaper to be absorbent. Without SAP, the fluffy core made of wood pulp would collapse, think of a cotton ball when it gets wet! Every disposable diaper has SAP in it, the SAP is mixed in with the fluffy wood pulp. Our SAP is premium and we have worked to ensure that we use the most premium and safest materials in our diaper. We third-party test our diapers for VOCs, dioxins and pesticides to ensure the utmost safety of every material we use. We are working towards a plant-based SAP that works, so parents can continue to rely on the effectiveness of our healthynest diapers.
We developed our diaper and diaper packaging to decrease the impact on our environment by replacing petroleum-based materials with plant-based materials wherever possible. We also carefully selected materials that are as efficient as possible, which allows us to use less materials overall. This is why our diaper is so effective, yet not overly bulky. We traveled the world visiting different facilities, and found our perfect partner in Europe- one that is truly sustainable and is as committed to safety as we are. We are proud to say that the production of our diapers is carbon neutral.
After a change, you can toss the used diaper into your household trash.
Yes! We designed our diapers for sensitive skin, they are clinically proven hypoallergenic and dermatologist tested. We purposely stayed away from chemicals that can cause irritation. The reality is you will deal with diaper rash at some point. Keeping a clean bottom (use our gentle wet wipes), and letting your baby’s bottom air out are the best ways to clear up a diaper rash.
At healthynest, we do everything we can to be efficient with our products and materials. We carefully selected materials that are as efficient as possible, allowing us to use less materials overall, which is why our diaper is so effective, yet not overly bulky.
Our diapers are so soft because they are cotton enhanced, with super soft cotton grown here in the USA. Perfect for the gentle skin of your baby!
We developed our diaper to only have what is needed for a soft, effective and safe product. Odor absorbers are convenient however they are additional materials and ingredients in the diaper. At healthynest, we developed our diapers to use as little chemicals and adhesive as possible. While the odor absorber is a nice plus, we try to only use what is necessary in our diapers.

Because every baby has a unique shape, there is a weight range for each diaper size. Our size chart is a great place to get started. It’s important that the diaper fits snugly and there are no gaps as they can lead to leaks. If you’re unsure which size to get, contact us to talk through the best solution, let’s make sure we get your baby in the right size! Size 1 6-9 lbs Size 2 8-14 lbs Size 3 12-18 lbs Size 4 16-28 lbs Size 5 22-37 lbs Size 6 27+
We do! Our newborn diaper is our size 1 diaper. This diaper size is designed for babies between 6-9 pounds.
Our current diaper packaging is made out of a mix of plant-based polyethylene sourced from sugarcane, and polyethylene. Because diapers are a product that need to stay clean and be sealed for safety, we currently need to package them in plastic. We did the best we could by using a plant-based plastic, and by making a thinner bag than most, so overall we can use less plastic. We are working on solutions to use less plastic in our packaging, but haven’t perfected it yet!
Healthynest diapers should be stored like any other diapers you may have used. Store your diapers in an area protected from extreme heat and humidity and away from products with fragrances. We recommend the diaper be kept in a dry storage area where the temperature is 85 degrees Fahrenheit or less.
Yes, we agree this is a great gift to give! Your close one will not only receive a year’s worth of diapers (and wipes as well, if you choose!), they will also receive all of the enriching content for their little one, that comes along with our monthly bundle of diapers.
